I’d like PNI to manufacture a product for me. What are my first steps?

Step One

Before contacting us:

  • Determine the ingredients for your product. Need help? We have a great deal of experience formulating products and can help you fine-tune your ingredients during the development phase, after you contact us.
  • Determine the approximate size of your order. Standard minimum run sizes are 100,000 capsules or tablets. Minimums are flexible, however, and often are determined by the details of the actual product. Other product minimums are determined on a per product basis and will need to be discussed with your Sales Executive later in the process.
Step Two

Fill out the Product Development form:

  • Fill out and send us the Product Development Form. This will provide us with a general overview of your needs.
  • A Sales Executive will then contact you to discuss details and offer suggestions. Our highly skilled staff can answer all your questions as well as prepare product pricing and maintain your account.
Step Three

Work with a sales executive to develop your product:

  • Your Sales Executive will take your product through all phases of development, testing, manufacturing, packaging and shipping.
  • Our sales team is aware of packaging trends in the industry and can assist you in finding the right packaging solutions, including bottle size and appearance.
Step Four

Create your labels:

  • Your labels should be designed by a graphic designer who is familiar with FDA regulations.
  • They should also be reviewed by an attorney who is thoroughly versed in dietary supplement labeling laws.
  • Our label specifications provide all the information you will need for your printer.

Coordinate & Plan Ahead: Save Money and Avoid Problems

Early in your process, make sure that your technical, marketing, and sales departments work together to ensure that your plans for the product are thought through thoroughly. Make sure we know all your plans as early as possible in our process. Fewer surprises = More savings for you. Be certain about what testing you'd like done before we've finished formulating (ask us, if you aren't sure), make sure your labels meet absolutely every FDA requirement before printing (submit a mockup to us beforehand to be certain), and, in general, communicate all your needs to us. We're here to listen and to help.
